This year we are doing a fundraiser for a local childrens home called Sunshine Acres.
Our goal is to raise $500.00 for the 70 children that live in the home.  We are selling hot cocoa and a "Tollhouse" cookie for only a buck.  If you would like to check them out go to: www.sunshineacres.org .  Our family watched the video and we were so touched by their story!  I felt this was so very important to teach my daughter what the spirit of giving is all about.
Happy Holidays!
Hugs,
Shirley

"What I did on my Summer Vacation" by Shirley Seay

We took our very first family vacation ever!! With Allie nearly 10 years old and Katie bug coming up on nine, Justin and I decided it was time to go far away on a Southwest Airlines airplane ride all the way to St. Petersburg, Florida to visit our fun Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dana!  We had such a wonderful time in their condo on the beach!
Here are a few highlights from our trip....Allie  loved the plane ride! We were a little concerned about Katie though.  She loves everyone so much, I feared that she would over step her boundaries with wanting to hug all the other passengers! However, she only hugged a couple of them! When the plane ride was over we took Allie's suggestion and headed for the beach.  The girls had never been to the beach and never felt the wet sand on their feet so needless to say it was so heart warming to see Allie and Katie walk into the ocean only to be tenderly touched by the waves.  Katie landed on her bottom and laid on her back to made sand angels.  All of this was done without her swim suit on.
The girls enjoyed both the beach and the pool.  Allie learned how to boogie board with Uncle Dana and Daddy.  Katie learned how to get out of the condo to sneak to the pool!  "very scary".  Allie enjoyed feeding the baby alligators at John's Pass. "very fun" they looked like little squeaky dog toys!
After 13 wonderful days in Florida it was time to get home to Charlie!
Hugs for now!

Farewell to Chloe!

I woke up this morning starting with my usual routine only to find my beloved dog of nearly 17 years distressed on the living room floor.  She was panting hard and trying so desperately to stand to greet me.  I could hear her quiet cries as I approached her.  In my heart I knew that today was going to be the day our family would say goodbye to her!  I sat next to her on the floor and cried so hard my head hurt.  I had been praying to God to let me know when the time was near.

Chloe had a wonderful life!  I rescued her when she was only three months old.  I brought her home on December 16, 1996.  It was to be my first Christmas in my new home.  I was single and alone and she made me feel so loved.  I have so many wonderful memories of her puppyhood and stubborness!  She was with me throughout so many bitter-sweet and happy times of my "30 something" years!  She was there to meet all the boyfriends, friends, and eventually to meet the man she loved the most my groom, Justin.  She was there to greet my first baby girl Allie when we brought her home from the hospital and then again to meet Katie bug!  I miss her most in the morning when she would lay at my feet as I drank my first cup of coffee before the troop would get up.
Good-bye my sweet girl...

Too cute!

Little Miss Allie Diane Seay made this from the computer

She just turned 9 and I am so proud of her art. I have it hanging all over our home!

She enjoys selling her art when she hangs out with me at one of my art shows.
