Farewell to Chloe!

I woke up this morning starting with my usual routine only to find my beloved dog of nearly 17 years distressed on the living room floor.  She was panting hard and trying so desperately to stand to greet me.  I could hear her quiet cries as I approached her.  In my heart I knew that today was going to be the day our family would say goodbye to her!  I sat next to her on the floor and cried so hard my head hurt.  I had been praying to God to let me know when the time was near.

Chloe had a wonderful life!  I rescued her when she was only three months old.  I brought her home on December 16, 1996.  It was to be my first Christmas in my new home.  I was single and alone and she made me feel so loved.  I have so many wonderful memories of her puppyhood and stubborness!  She was with me throughout so many bitter-sweet and happy times of my "30 something" years!  She was there to meet all the boyfriends, friends, and eventually to meet the man she loved the most my groom, Justin.  She was there to greet my first baby girl Allie when we brought her home from the hospital and then again to meet Katie bug!  I miss her most in the morning when she would lay at my feet as I drank my first cup of coffee before the troop would get up.
Good-bye my sweet girl...

I am so very sorry. I understand every emotion you are experiencing as we've had to say goodbye to three tail-wagging friends. I also prayed to know when the time approached, especially when our golden girl, Honey, passed away (Golden Ret). I just knew. It was amazing to see God's grace grant us a special goodbye in our home including every member of our family of four being present, and our daughter had prayed for special wishes such as a beach day and a ball park day which were granted too.

Will keep you in my prayers.
Much love,
Marcia
